Facilitating Multi-Jurisdictional Research

The BC Ethics Harmonization Initiative (BCEHI) aims to create efficient, coordinated, and high-quality processes that support and encourage multi-jurisdictional human research. The goal is to make BC a more attractive environment for research activity.

BCEHI is now Research Ethics BC, part of BC AHSN

In April 2018, the BC Academic Health Science Network (BC AHSN) announced that it was bringing the BC Ethics Harmonization Initiative in house and supporting it as an ongoing provincial resource. This includes providing sustained staffing and infrastructure to enable expansion of the provincial approach to harmonized research ethics review.

As part of BC AHSN, BCEHI has been renamed Research Ethics BC, reflecting its change in status from initiative to established resource.

This website will be closed in Summer 2018. To see the latest information and resources from Research Ethics BC, please visit
